We saw this restaurant on an episode of Bizarre Foods: Delicious Destinations. We ordered the Japanese Deluxe and were really impressed with the value we got! For only 12.50, we received tasty beef, chicken, shrimp tempura and tuna sashimi over a bed of rice that was enough for two people. This has to be one of the most cost effective places near Waikiki, and it's delicious!

My husband said this is a family owned business when he lived here in 2000s (not sure if it still is but he thinks it still is), we come here every time we visit. Auntie and uncles in the back smash the line down and get em orders out. Food is hot, fresh, and bomb!!

Had an appointment nearby so I stopped by St. Louis Drive In for a late breakfast/early lunch. Some of breakfasts were starting at 7, great deal. I have found that I wanted something a little more so I placed an order for a shoyu chicken plate for 12.04 tax included. Yes, very competitive with Rainbow Drive In, Cheap Eats. Once my order came out I sat down and ate and it was good. Can not complain. Good food and good price. The place is not renovated and it gives a nostalgia feeling.

Old school local food. Lots of options and specials. BBQ Burgers, saimin, and plate lunches are some of the best you’ll find. Can get good ole Green River drink too. Haven’t been for breakfast, but looking to grab the Hawaiian sweet bread French Toast.

We went to the Drive in after the BOW’S football game and had the best dinner. We ordered the Japanese deluxe plate and the fresh mahi-mahi plate. The food came fresh and hot off the grill, portions were very generous and priced right. We have been going there for years and it just keeps living up to my expectations, can’t wait till next meal!

Had an event in the area so we stopped by this iconic local drive in for dinner. We of course ordered the Japanese Plate Deluxe, which was 1 off (until Dec 24th), so instead of 12.50 it was only 11.50! What a deal even without the discount! What other plate lunch has sashimi, mochiko chicken, teri beef AND tempura?! It was definitely like a mini buffet that won't break your wallet! We also ordered a Loco Moco off the breakfast menu (cool that you can order this at night) but it could've definitely used more gravy. Other than that, winner winner chicken dinner!

This is one of my favorite bento places. The food is tasty, and the price is very reasonable (that combination is the main reason it got five stars). My favorite bento is their bento deluxe with teri beef, mochiko chicken, luncheon meat and a scallop. This month, they had a Super Japanese Plate Deluxe. It had teri beef, mochiko chicken, two scallops, two shrimp tempura, sashimi, and a small salad. The shrimp tempura was just okay (little oily), but I really enjoyed everything else. Best of all, it was only 11.50. Like most take out places, I think the rice is on the dry side. I'd love to see places offer an option to upgrade the rice to fresher Japanese rice that is properly soaked in water during the preparation process. I've been spoiled eating rice from, The Rice Factory.
